BLOODSTAR - ROUGH ANIMATION
Here’s a look at a couple of rough animations for Bloodstar we’re currently using in the pre-alpha build. We’re going to be using a couple of different methods of animation in the game, one of which represented here (frame by frame). For larger bosses we may opt for a mix of frame by frame and puppet (divided into large independently animated sprites).
Thanks for supporting our project, we’re working hard to get this demo ready for our planned crowdfunding campaign sometime next month. Please help us out, share and reblog! Thank you and we’ll see you guys next week with more development updates!

CAKEMACHINE GAMES PRESENTS: BLOODSTAR
We’re excited to announce our new project that we’ve been working on this year. It’s called “Bloodstar”, an arcade inspired action platformer.
Our team has been hard at work getting a demo ready to be released, as well as planning for a crowdfunding campaign within the next month.
You take on the role of Val, a princess who is cursed by a malevolent force known only as the Bloodstar; Rising once every 10 years, it casts the land into peril, transforming the kingdom’s rulers into demons. Val must fight off monsters and destroy the Bloodstar before she becomes a demon forever!
Please share and reblog this as much as you can, we need help spreading the word of our new project, and we’re excited for you to play it! We’ll continue doing weekly development updates here on Cakemachinegames.com, thank you for your support!
State of the Cake, May 2014
We’d like to take some time to talk about our current projects and the future of Project Sen. Sen was developed with a custom engine from scratch, which consumed a lot of production time, eventually leading to an unfeasible amount of groundwork that didn’t fit in our projected timeframe. We have decided to go ahead with a new, smaller-scale concept for our first game project, and develop the game using Unity, which is basically a pre-built engine that is utilized widely by indie developers.
This doesn’t mean we’ve given up on Sen; On the contrary, we plan on using the same methods for this new project that we intend to use to make Sen. It’s a stepping stone for us to be able to present the final vision of Project Sen the way we’d like it to be. It occurred to us that the scope of Project Sen was too ambitious for our small team to take on as a first game production, so we’ve decided to do a game that retains the refined visuals of Project Sen, but that is also more concise as far as size and budget are concerned.
We have been working fast and diligently to get this new project up and running, and plan on having a fully playable demo when we launch the indiegogo in the next couple of months. Thanks for sticking with us, we hope that you continue to support our projects as we grow as developers!
We’re currently looking for one or two programmers to continue to develop Project Sen.
We’re looking for people who have a passion for games, and understand we’re at the moment completely independant and a passion project. We are looking for possible future partners, and will likely be offering profit sharing if everything works out, and a share of funding.
We were developing on the Adobe Air platform, by way of Flash builder. The game is open to new tools, and development, but would like to expand on the code we have if possible. Specifically physics and gameplay as of so far.
If you want to apply, please send an e-mail to us at Cakemachinegames@gmail.com with the Subject “Programming applicant.” We’d like to see a sample of your work, a resume. We will likely ask you to have a meeting with us in google hangouts if your resume and e-mail fit our needs and in general a good fit.

SEN SATURDAYS - THE WORLD OF PROJECT SEN
Hello everyone, welcome to Sen Saturdays, the official Project Sen production update! Here’s some concept art depicting the various locations you’ll explore on Barimos.
The sprawling Pantheon City is the crowning achievement of humanity. It represents the idealistic vision of the future, fully realized after a century of construction.
The Forest Dome is the center of oxygen production for the entire colony. Recently a series of fires have began spreading within the structure, endangering all life on the moon.
The "Freeze Zone" is the atmospheric processor of the Pantheon colony. It has been shut down, freezing the structure in ice, eventually putting the colony’s stability at risk. It is unknown why or how this occurred.
Thank you for supporting Project Sen! Please share and reblog, we really appreciate all the help.
